Did you know that Portugal has different idyllic regions hidden in the mountains of central Portugal. We didn’t also, until on a holiday adventure trip we’ve fallen in love with this region of Portugal. Together with a great desire to move there, we decided that it would be ideal to set up in Yurts.

A beautiful setting, sipping cocktails in hammocks, organic food, river swimming, and hikes into the lush, forested hills: these were the main reasons to move to a kind of holiday Yurt type of home where we could really get to relax and enjoy another world.

With all the romance and adventure of sleeping under canvas and none of the discomfort, by living in a Yurt we are able to enjoy biking, river swimming, and picnics in the forests.

But this region is also a great base to explore some of Central Portugal’s absolute highlights. Easy day trips include the lovely university town of Coimbra, the extraordinary Convento do Cristo in Tomar, the amazing Buccacao Forest & Palace, and the gorgeous towns of Aveiro and Viseu.
